演講摘要：

Our brain receives sensory input from the entire body and sends out motor commands to actively adapt to the environment. Moreover, the brain undergoes continuous changes in connectivity during development and daily learning. Understanding how structural changes in the brain give rise to its functional changes remains a major challenge in biology. To address this problem, we have developed tissue clearing techniques (SeeDB and SeeDB2) and multicolor labeling tools (e.g., Tetbow) to facilitate light microscopy-based studies of neuronal connectivity. We also developed SeeDB-Live, an optical clearing medium that enables minimally invasive, deep-tissue imaging of the live brain. Using these tools, we have been studying the structure and function of the nervous system. In this talk, I will discuss how our approaches help uncover the developmental changes in the connectome underlying brain function.
